Activated Carbon Rotary Kiln

Activated carbon, also known as activated carbon black, is black powdered or lumpy, granular, honeycomb amorphous carbon, and also well-arranged crystalline carbon. It is commonly used as a hydrophobic adsorbent because it contains 80%-90% of elemental carbon.

Activated carbon rotary kiln is a stable and efficient equipment for producing activated carbon. It adopts cooling system, which can quickly cool down and directly pack the finished products, realizing continuous mechanized operation and reducing the input of personnel. In addition, this equipment can be applied to different raw materials, such as coconut shell, fruit shell, wood, biological coal, etc., which can meet the needs of different customers.

Working principle of activated carbon rotary kiln

The qualified activated carbon materials are stored in the silo, lifted by the hoist and transported to the top bin of the preheater. The top bin of the preheater is controlled by two level meters, and then the materials are evenly distributed to each chamber of the preheater through the lower feeding pipe.

The material is heated to about 900°C by the kiln flue gas at 1150°C in the preheater, and about 30% of it is decomposed and pushed into the activated carbon rotary kiln by the hydraulic pusher, and the material is decomposed into CaO and CO2 by sintering in the activated carbon rotary kiln.

The decomposed limestone enters the cooler, where it is cooled to 100°C by the incoming cold air and discharged, and the 600°C hot air is mixed and burned with gas in the kiln through heat exchange. The exhaust gas is mixed into the cold air through the induced draft fan into the bag filter, and then through the exhaust fan into the chimney.
